This Privacy Policy explains how Jostle ("we", "us"), operated by [Legal Entity Name], collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you use jostle.cloud and related services (the "Service"). We process personal data in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable rules.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: your name, email address, and (if you choose to verify) phone number.
• Profile data: details you provide during onboarding such as target role, college, degree, graduation year, skill level and dream companies.
• Resume content: resume files you upload and the text extracted from them, used to generate analysis and feedback.
• Usage data: the features you use, scores generated, interview transcripts, application-tracker entries and practice activity.
• Payment data: if you subscribe, payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card or banking details — we only retain a subscription identifier and your plan status.
• Technical data: standard log information such as IP address and browser type, used for security and to operate the Service.

2. How we use your data

• To provide the Service — analysing resumes, running mock interviews, generating roadmaps and tracking your readiness.
• To personalise your experience based on your stated goals and profile.
• To process subscriptions, send transactional emails (welcome, receipts) and, if enabled, verification messages.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your resume content to train third-party AI models beyond what is necessary to return your results.

3. AI processing

To generate feedback, the relevant text you submit (for example, resume text or interview answers) is sent to our AI processing provider via a secure API to produce your results. We send only what is needed for the feature you are using.

4. Service providers we share data with

• Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
• Our AI provider — to generate analysis and feedback from the text you submit.
• Razorpay — to process subscription payments.
• Resend — to send transactional email (if enabled).
• An SMS provider — to send phone-verification codes (only if you verify your phone).

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments.

5. Data security

Your data is protected by database row-level security so that your records are accessible only to your account. Files are stored in a private bucket. Access to sensitive operations is restricted to server-side systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

6. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. You can delete your resumes and analysis history at any time from your profile. If you delete your account, we delete associated personal data, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, payment records) by law.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to access, correct, update and erase your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us using the details below.

8. Children

The Service is intended for users who are at least 18, or who use it under the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian as required by law. We do not knowingly collect data from children in violation of applicable law.

9. Grievance Officer
